«I am a senior lecturer in sculpture and computer skills at a new art school in New Zealand. I emigrated here with my family four years ago from NYC. Although I have concentrated primarily on commissioned sculpture, I have, in the last six years, become quite interested in using computer technology as a tool in visualizing sculptural and art in architecture pieces.
For example, in 1995, just before leaving for NZ, I completed a commission for City College in NYC, designed on a computer.

Since then, I have created dozens of 3d computer models using 3d Studio Max, Viz and AutoCad. Some models are meant to be built and others I design that would not, or could not be built for either physical, ethical, or economic reasons.
These exist as images mostly as large prints only. These prints attempt through ambiguity of scale, material, reflection and
perspective to blur the line between images of virtual and actual sculptural “icons” and monuments.

Lately, I have been experimenting with 3d Studio animated walk-throughs as well as investigating CAD/CAM machining
in aluminum of my sculptures as well as LOM projects. (I am in the process of applying to Creative NZ for funding for the
CAM and LOM projects.)»
